Meditations

Holding Space It is important to remember, we do not have to make meditation ritualistic, anymore than we have to make spirituality religious. It is not lighting candles and burning incense that makes an inward journey effective. In living such a fast paced life these days, there is a need to check-in with ourselves, for inner peace and clarity, to find perspective. Whether a meditation lasts two minutes or two hours, the idea is to turn inward and just be still.

Think of meditation as a self imposed time-out, a moment to step back and find your bearings. It lets you connect with yourself and see where you stand in a world that never stops spinning.

Relax with Meditation

This was on a flier I picked up at The Caring Place. It is a two minute meditation you can do anywhere, sitting in your car, at your desk, or doing the dishes.

Breathe in. As you breathe out, relax your shoulders.

Breathe in. As you breathe out, let go of tension in your jaw.

Breathe in. As you breath out, relax your belly.

Breathe in, imagining that you are breathing in peace.

Breathe out, imagining that you are sharing peace.

Breathe in peace, breathe out peace.
